Alan L. Campbell, Ph.D.
Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs
I
am the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Georgia. In my role, I am responsible for assisting students who experience hardship circumstances. I work closely with students and their faculty to help them understand course withdrawal policies and relevant considerations.
|
The decision to withdraw from any courses can have significant implications for students in many areas, including potential impact on financial aid status or eligibility, health insurance coverage or eligibility, academic progress, athletic eligibility, visa/immigration status, and access to many campus resources like University Housing. We are here to help students understand these matters so that students experiencing difficult hardship circumstances are able to make the most informed decisions about withdrawing from courses. We are also here to help students learn about important campus and community resources that students may find helpful including Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS), Disability Resource Center, and the Division of Academic Enhancement.
I am a triple Dawg. I earned a B.A. in Psychology, an M.Ed. in Community Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at UGA. I also completed a pre-doctoral internship and a post-doctoral Fellowship at UGA. I worked as a Licensed Psychologist at the University Health Center prior to serving in my current position.

Linda Edge
Administrative Specialist
I have worked for the University since 1997, and I have been in my current position since 1999. My primary responsibilities include working with students in crisis who need to withdraw, processing hardship withdrawals for students, coordinating the University’s annual memorial ceremony, developing our office correspondence, and maintaining our office calendar and our student files. |
I work with students, parents, faculty and staff answering their questions regarding hardship and non-hardship withdrawals, short-term and long-term absences, grade change requests, grades of Incompletes, and other campus resources. In addition, I process the paperwork to notify the campus community of the loss of a student. I moved to Athens in 1977. When I began working at UGA, I also attended as a non-traditional student. I am not currently an active student as my time is consumed with working full-time and maintaining my 100-year-old house, but I proudly boast the classification of sophomore. It helps me feel young.

Toni Thibodeaux Boatwright
Administrative Assistant
I joined the Office of Student Support Services in November 2008. As an assistant to Dr. Alan Campbell, Beau Seagraves and Linda Edge, I am also entrusted with establishing an approachable and responsive atmosphere where students, their families and faculty members obtain support with hardship situations. |
I receive and assist callers, clients, and visitors along with providing help with special projects, events and assignments.
Prior to joining the UGA community, I worked as an Administrative Assistant with the Adult Literacy Program at Athens Technical College, operated my own authentic Cajun café and enjoyed freelance writing for local magazines.
My husband Paul and I have a small farm in Madison County where we care for a menagerie of animals and grow seasonal garden plants. We have two adult children and enjoy our free time taking weekend trips around the state where we visit historical sites, garden districts, farmer’s markets and art museums.
